We know, we created a new phrase. “Flash brunching.” What does that mean? For Baton Rouge Brunches, it is a brunch event where we decide to get a large number of brunch attendees to a restaurant at the last minute with little to no planning. This week’s flash brunch was at City Cafe and they rose to the challenge! Good food, awesome service, and lots of champagne! 

We also brought one of our favorite food bloggers, Little White Apron, with us. Little White Apron, besides her presence on social media, has a food blog that posts fantastic and manageable recipes. Soon she will be revamping her webpage to include food events on “how to cook recipes and pairings”and also reviews of Baton Rouge restaurants. We love Little White Apron like we love City Cafe. Lori Zachary runs and is the driving force behind Little White Apron! 

Twenty brunchers attended the flash brunch. We had lots of bottomless champagne, delicious chicken and waffles, chargrilled oysters, seafood gumbo, omelets, biscuits and gravy, and much much more. The seafood gumbo was amazing! Chicken and waffles were an game changers! And the hamburgers were a must try!

City Cafe has fantastic service, great brunch beverage specials, and a balanced menu. Our brunchers loved it! Here are some photos! 

Flash brunches are a way Baton Rouge Brunches can get together for last minute events and enjoy great food and drinks and, most importantly, each other! We will definitely have todo this again! Baton Rouge Brunches approves!
